No one should have to brake to slow to a speed limit after the "Reduce Speed Ahead" sign when he/she is doing the posted speed limit at the time it is seen. The speed limit signs are far too close together going from 70 MPH to 60 MPH to 50 MPH to 40 MPH in a very very short distance. Allowing the car to slow down by letting off the the accelerator should be sufficient distance to get to the lower speed limits. Most cities allow this except for speedtrap towns. Secondly, the radar has you recorded prior to reaching the posted speed limit and you could be doing less miles per hour than listed on your citation. The fines are way out of line too.

Comment (3/2005): just like Nevada. only their speed limits are 70 mph day & night. 70-55-45-35
