I-10E from marker 713 to 716 is notorious in the early evenings ~7:00PM for a high number of DPS officers patrolling for truck drivers traveling from San Antonio to Houston. I saw one officer standing behind a concrete column of the overpass with his laser? on a Thursday evening. As I passed him, I noticed the five or six patrol cars waiting on the side of the road. Apparently, he was radioing the recorded speeds to the others as cars passed by.

Comment (6/2006): watch your speed on I-10, going east from Austin to Waller County, speed limit decreases to 65 mph , at night it's 65 anyway so no difference there

Lightly marked white Chevy pickup is Austin County Sheriff who does not play by the rules. Sits on the side of the road in his basically unmarked vehicle waiting for rolling stops and mischevious sportbike riders. Unmarked vehicles (or lightly marked) is not playin fair .. especially on a road that should have a much higher limit.
