The trap is supposed to be a School Zone. However, it begins approximately 1/4 mile from the school road near US 377 and extends for over 1/2 mile, well beyond the school entrance. An unsuspecting motorist coming from the west traveling east is nowhere near the school but expected to slow to 20 mph. The time on the posting school zone is until 5 pm as well. (Most Texas school zones have a few blocks in the vicinity of the school and are only 1/2 hour before and after students will likely be using the area.) In addition there are no sidewalks so the students don't even use the road! The police sit in wait and gather revenue from speeding 30 mph in a 20 mph school zone after 4:30 pm when few if any students are at the school. | |
