Sherrifs patrol this town heavily, because they are hired. Rt 30 is a 40 mph zone, which is silly. It should be 50 and everyone knows it. They will be pretty much all over town, it is a better idea to just deal with it. On US 7 they will be pretty much everywhere too, though there is a section by a state park where the limit drops from 50 to 45, and they hang out there. There is also a turnaround right before you cross the county line (north) where they can be often found. It is a large turnaround/parking area and easy to see. Slow down for it.

Comment (7/2002): South Dorset - Morse Hill Road - The main road between Rt. 30 and Rt. 7. Usually well traveled by county sherrifs since it goes right to 2 good paces for traps. 35 is the speed limit, 40 is usually OK, over and you'll get to hang out for a while and chat with a man in blue. Near the top of the hill is where you'll see them parked.

Comment (03/2008): Just learned that $ is an issue with the town. No longer paying the Sheriff\'s dept to patrol, insted, the town found it\'s cheaper to have a cruiser, usually a chevy impala, left in a highly noticable area to try to \"fool\" passing motorists. The car does have a unit that emits a doplar radar frequency but lacks the neccesary equioment to display speed. This is a \"bare bones\" cruiser used just for this purpose.

Officers are seen pretty much daily along this 2 mile strech. Beware.
