There is a VERY HIGH level of enforcement in the WHOLE TOWN!! It seems like they are everywhere!

Comment (5/2003): The town cop in Chester is VERY unfair,, he gave my wife a $160 ticket at speedtrap where it went from 50 to 30 near the "HOLY" stone village. Wife hasn't had ticket for approx 20 years! Town manager USELESS and thinks it's all a joke. AVOID TOWN! AAA was warned and has planned to warn others.

Comment (2/2004): The town of Chester is a rural Vermont "Norman Rockwell" type of town. It is very congested with children and animals at all times of the day due to the abundance of "small town" activities funded by the citizens. As I have been visiting this town for several years, I find that the officer's are polite and agreeable in their attempt to curb the onslaught of aggressive and irresponsible drivers. Remember that as you visit Vermont for the "quaint" towns, it is the Peace Officer that makes them "quaint" by dispelling the riff raff.

Comment (01/2008): Well, I have one question. Were you speeding or not? Two or ten over it doesn\'t matter, that IS speeding. I\'ve received speeding tickets and I WAS speeding, so pay the tickets and quit whining.

You come around the corner on 103 right before the Stone Cottage heading north on 103, and the speedlimit drops to 30mph as you exit the corner, the Chester Police (in a green explorer with a low profile LED lightbar that you dont notice until its on) will be sitting in a parking lot facing south and get your speed right at the sign.
