Burlington Police have various hideouts from Burlington to Colchester. Some sneakier than others. Not sure what their cutoff is, because I've never been stopped. Colchester Police will sit just beyond the town line (Winooski River) in a dirt turn-around on the left as you enter Colchester. Speed is VERY underposted there at 35, but becomes residential after the turn-around, so you should be slowing anyway.

Like many traps along the interstate, you'll find cops lurking between the north and southbound lanes on those emergency U-turn. The northbound lane seems to be watched more often in the morning, the southbound more often at night, from what I've seen. Their cars aren't hidden, but almost every day I see someone pulled over by the state po in this area. Watch out.

As you drive along a 25 MPH area of Main Street in Burlington (through the UVM section), there are TWO traps you need to be aware of. 1) The first is at the top of the hill - there is a light there, and a dark road that intersects it (it heads towards the East Campus side of UVM). Cops love this spot at night. It's a 25 MPH zone, so be careful doing anything over 30, 35 through here or you will be stopped if cops are around. 2) The second is just after the first trap if you're heading into Burlington. It's after that string of traffic lights, just before the street turns left and goes past the University Green. Cops like to sit on the right (again, if you're heading into Burlington) in that parking lot by the UVM Bookstore. Seems to be a pretty common spot, so watch your back.

On North Ave, going north toward the New North end, you pass the cemetery, start going down the hill toward Institute Road where Burlington High School/North Beach Park are on the left. Cops are at the top of the hill in the Bus turn-around circle right by highschool. Limit is 25.
