Two traps to be aware of (assume we're heading northbound on I-89 here): first, just after exit 16, there are large rock mounds between the north and southbound lanes. These rock mounds are just over a small hill if I remember correctly, so you may have difficulty seeing them until it's too late. Cops like to sit just before these rocks and nab speeders, as the 55 MPH zone is still in effect around here. second, further along, the interstate winds down and to the left and along a straight-away with weigh-stations along both lanes. DMV trucks (black SUV or pick-up types) like to sit around here and catch speeders, and pretty often too.

A popular place for multi-officer clock and snatch. Speed limit drop from 65 to 55. Many times you will see a VT DMV enforcement unit here, these officers primary role is monitoring large trucks. More often they will be stopping cars though. The DMV enforcment units are Chevy Tahoes and they seem to run the radar constantly, either they don't have instant-on, or don't use it. State and local PD use laser at this site.

When traffic is light, local PD will sit at the side of the road in the cover of dark. Posted limit is 35, most vehicles travel 50-55. 45-50 seems to be acceptable at this location, but 10+ over will usually get you a ticket in VT, so they must be out for high revenue targets. This is a popular spot for OT "traffic enforcement" shifts.

VSP has received a Federal Grant to enfroce speeding and aggressive driving between exits 16 and 13 on I-89 between the hours of 6AM-9AM. Anything 5MPH, aggressive lane changes, tailgating, and failure to signal a lane change will be stopped and ticketed. Happy Motoring.
