This is a tourist town of aproximate 1500 population with patrols by city police and county sheriff deputies. in the off season and after business hours the local (city) police have a sleepy time low traffic volume so to entertain themselves they continually follow traffic from one end of town to the other then reverse direction and follow the next car to the other end of town, if you are out there early of late and see another vehicle rest assured that it will be a police officer following you

Comment (6/2003): This spring the State DOT, while fixing a tunnel that eventually leads into town, detoured traffic up over "Navarre Coule." Where the detour intersects another major road that eventually leads into town state and county officers figured out that drivers think they're back on the main highway and speed back up to the highway limit of 60. That road looks like a highway, very wide an long sweeping turns but its only a 45 MPH zone actually dropping to 35 in some areas. It goes up and down several times. So naturally the cops sat at this vulernable areas and upped their quota by napping locals and especially tourists who were easily fooled by the re-routing. If they relly wanted to slow down traffic they would have put up some additional signage, but clearly all they want is the dough.

Comment (10/2003): if you don't speed and use your turn signals, then let them follow,,they are there to help also,,and signs wouldn't do any good any way none of you read them
