State Patrol sit at top of Exit ramp most often working the southbound traffic. Also work lidar from rest area further south this is the hard to see trap because the patrol car will be pulled far off the highway on the shoulder of the exit ramp(for the rest area) and the officer will be out of the car with the gun.

Comment (11/2002): I-5 Northbound 10/11/02 daytime 13 Washington Hwy Patrol visibly waiting topounce on any speeder above posted 60mph. I-5 Southbound 10/20/02 9 WHP waitingto pounce. Some in process of ticketing. WSH has median cut throughs for quickcatches of opposite direction speeders.

Comment (8/2003): This is a known area to the locals. Speed limit is 70 mph not 60 mph. The speed limit drops to 60 north at South Lake Samish.
