In Albany, Wisconsin they have three full time and many part time police officers. The Police Chief is a retired Police Chief from the Chicago area, he does not kid around any lip, you are guaranteed a ticket and a trip to the Green County Jail. His officers patrol this area from 3pm until 9pm on a daily basis. The speed goes from 45 mph to 25mph within 10 feet, one mile over and the red and blue lights are on. The Albany Police have a reputation for high levels of enforcement when it comes to traffic. Be careful, smile and remember your manners if you get stopped.

Comment (10/2002): If you do get a ticket, go and talk to the chief. If will usually reduce it.

Comment (5/2003): This whole street is now 25mph... be warned. I got nailed for going the old speed limit before it used to change to 25mph.

This is a little known speed trap in Albany. South Cincinnati Street is a shortcut through town when you want to go south on County Highway E and want to avoid State Highway 59. The speed limit is 35 MPH to the stop sign (and they mean 35). This spot is heavily enforced by the Chief of Police; who by the way reminds me of an Illinois State Trooper. The other two full time cops are out to write as many as they can. They must exceed their quota every day. Be careful when going through this town as they will not hesitate to give tickets to anyone.
