State Trooper sitting in his vehicle on the shoulder. He is using lidar to clock vehicle speeds (no cooberation with other units but there are no exits from the trap to the next toll booth). This is located about 1 to 2 miles past the North Beckley exit on 77N and it is a downhill stretch of the interstate.

Comment (7/2002): very good job officers!

Rolling Radar on the interstate. Only those with out of state plates get tickets here. There is a regular flow of tickets at all hours for out of staters, especially during rafting season. Here, speed in the right lane and you're OK. But in the left lane they see a plate on the front of your car...That signifies you as an out of stater since WV doesn't issue front license plates! You guessed it, your chances of getting awarded a ticket are higher at night when traffic slows down: It's easier to see your plate with no other vehicles to distract them!
