Cops stand on bridge shoot at vehicles enterning town from the west speed drops to 50mph. Average vehicle speed is 65 mph. Cop using Laser hand held, no support so readings will be in error at best. A speed trap of the worst kind. Strictly for revenue.
Comment (4/2002): If you dont speed you wont get a ticket. I believe that the speed limit is 60mph from the Dunbar exit to the Kanawha City exit. that's about 10-15 miles that it never changes from 60mph. So how is it a speed "trap" if you now what the speed limit is and you still drive 10-20mph above it. slow down.
Comment (4/2002): I figure this should say "Charleston" not "Charlestown." Also, location I figure should say "Kanawha" not "Kawanaw"
Comment (4/2002): The correct entry would be::: this is I-64 in Charleston @ the Greenbrier Street exit, as yes there is an overpass there, and they do periodically stand on the overpass(which is fenced, and hard to see them until you come upon it)with their radar/laser, once clocked there are approximately 3-6 cops waiting ahead to pull you over. By the way this is also going Eastbound.
Comment (4/2002): The correct spelling for the county is Kanawha.
