The casper police are being asked by the chief to make as nuch as a 70% MORE TRAFFIC STOPS. aLL Areas of Casper are affected, The PD has even advertised the fact thet want more stops. Many of the traps I see are on CY avenue..near Safeway and 13th. street...by the baseball fields. Also a big one for them is by Kelly Walsh High School. If you have a taillight out or other "viloation" you'll probably end up stopped at some time.

Comment (3/2004): May of 2000 Grand Forks, ND reported an increase in Traffic Citations with a decrease of Traffic Collisions ... hmmm .. Increase in speed and increase in human error = Collision/Injury/DeathI believe the City of Casper released a report recently which they too stated an increase in Traffic Citations and a Decrease in Traffic Collisions.

Comment (3/2004): It's about time. Traffic problems in Casper have increased over the last 10 years.

Comment (3/2004): If speed equaled accidents most of the German population would be dead! Wake up.

Comment (4/2004): Hmm .. Most German population would be dead .. Good One ! Most of their traffic accidents are the same reason we have ours: mechanical defect/human error/the other driver .. We have more accidents due to the number of our population in the US

Comment (6/2004): WOW, this person blames the our accident rate on our higher population and yet they are talking about an area that is one of the lowest populated areas in the US. Got any stats to back that up? Didn't think so. How did you put that? Oh yea, "Good One"! I don't know what's more ignorant that statement or the one about "Traffic problems in Casper have increased over the last 10 years." It took 10 years for Casper to have an increase in traffic? Are you commenting about the cars or the cows?

Comment (7/2004): Speed Trap? Can someone define this for me? When you applied for your first license, or for any subsequent license it seems that in the book there is an clear explanation as to what a speed limit sign looks like, and what it means. So how are you trapped?? Read the stinkin' signs and obey them...it's that simple. You're not being trapped, you're being reprimanded for not complying with the law! It's just a speeding ticket....get over it!

Comment (3/2005): for a state that posts 75 mph and darn well better be! seeing as this state has the least population density of the entire U.S. they post low speed limits in towns

Comment (5/2005): i agree, also, u will get stopped going east bound on 12th street up the hill east of beverly st. you have to merge left because of a turn right only lane and if speed past to get in line, you will get stopped. also going west on 12th down the one way hill, at the bottom, cops like to sit there
