Last year I was traveling on business to a community called Lusk Wyoming. It is off the main Interstate 25 then northeast to US 20 or 18 approximately 35-45 miles. I was in a unfamiliar vehicle (rental)with snow blowing cross the roadway however it was not snowing and there was no snow directly on the roadway. (I\'m from south central Texas what is that white stuff!) In addition this is an unfamiliar road. So as a reasonable and prudent person my speed was changing as the road changed and conditions changed. The odometer was constantly changing from 30-40 mph. Their one speed signs was down inside a ditch approximately 50 feet off the roadway indicating 65 MPH and it was the only one I saw. I saw a Wyoming State Trooper vehicle sitting on the right-side of the road some distance ahead. I thought to myself good I\'ll ask a question about how much further it would be to Lusk. As I drew nearer to his unit he activated his emergency lights and signal me over. This trooper then exited his unit and walked towards my vehicle. After addressing me in a most crude manner demanding my driver license and proof of insurance. (I think he was about 18years old, skinny little thing and smart ass mouth). He never applied any introduction or stated why he signaled me over. I asked him why I was being asked for this and he stated I was going 94mph.....What???? Totally shocked!!! He stated he targeted my vehicle with rear lazer. He walked off with my license. I know for a fact working with radar devices there is no such thing(yet)as a rear mount lazer radar unit a-fixed stationary inside his patrol unit. In addition you do not use any radar next to a railroad track when trains are moving especially two trains moving opposite directions at the same time as it was in this case it cause a error in the emitting signal \"bleed over\". Any Police Officer if they are \"lidar\" or \"radar\" certified knows this. Lazer has to be outside the vehicle if you are sitting inside the vehicle facing the opposite direction or you should have a partner that can turn around and he did not have a partner. I was ticketed and then fussed at .... Any officer should know you never do both it is one or the other. If it\'s a warning \"a word to the wise\". If it\'s a ticket \"be nice\". After receiving the citation I went immediately to the county attorney... will that\'s another story. After review??? the citation was reduced to the amazing 3 miles over the posted limit ..mmm-mmm.. so my question is this was it 94mph or 68mph? and are they lying now or they lying then?? Unbelieveable and you guys talk about Texas!!! This Wyoming State Trooper is insolent, condesending, and LMS (Little Man Syndrome)and a liar. I suppose his mother is proud of him. | |
