Officers sit at various locations throughout the day looking for speeders. Speed limit is 35 mph, so it is easy to exceed this.

Comment (4/2003): Speed limit here is 30 MPH not 35.

Comment (6/2003): Officer friendly now has a full-size, unmarked, Ford pickup that they use, besides the standard Crown Victorias. They like to hide behind the palm and sea grapes on the south side of the causway, west of the bridge.

Comment (3/2004): don't let other cars behind you push you faster than 30 mph. Experienced drivers won't push, inexperenced drivers will.

Comment (6/2004): The limit is only 30mph not 35mph. I would not suggest going a single mph over 30. They are usually there durning the day and at night you can bet there will be at least one.

Comment (12/2007): 12/22/07 With the construction of a new bridge, this speed trap has disappeared

Comment (08/2008): August 2008 - this speed trap is alive and well. There is a very rude cop that hides in the construction zone for the new bridge. Limit is 30, go one over and he\'ll nab you. I got hit. I see him after midnight hiding in the shadows like a coward.
