When going either east of west on Bonita Beach Road where it turns into Hickory Boulevard between the mainland and Little Hickory Island, a police vehicle will occasionally sit on the north side of the road clocking vehicles coming and going over the bridge. This bridge is a 40 mph zone but frequently sees vehicles going in excess of 60 mph+ and was the scene of a traffic fatility recently (Dec. '03). Please be careful as this is a gateway to the Bonita and Ft. Myers beaches and keep near the limit as their are lots of unfamiliar and/or careless tourists who will change lanes and speeds without warning due to the lane reduction past the bridge.

Comment (4/2005): Agree, particularly due to the lane change mentioned. The road quickly changes from 2 lanes each way to a single lane each way and traffic tends to speed up to beat out other cars.
