Miccosukee Indian Police the Alley in their jurisdiction - roughly MM55 to MM45. Every time I pass, I see one of their officers writing a ticket - as if they don't make enough from their casinos.

Comment (7/2005): I have always heard of lots of cops on alligator alley, never seen one, i have driven 3 times towards Ft. Lauderdale and 2 times to Naples, never seen one.

Comment (12/2004): Also tickets speeders on US 41 (aka Tamiami Trail) between Krome Avenue in Miami to the Collier County line about 45 miles West of Krome Avenue. Miami-Dade County police never patrol the strip and Florida Highway Patrol goes by about once every two hours.

Comment (1/2006): Miccosukee Police *will* approach you with a loaded and pointed shotgun every time they pull a car over.

Comment (2/2006): Confirmed. Know someone that was driving in a pack of 10-12 cars going about 85mph. There were about 10 cops waiting at the onramps from this bridge and got 'em all. And more coppies took their place on the onramps.

Comment (07/2008): 08/08 Friday Evening, 2AM. As empty as the alley ever gets. I got pegged for two tickets simultaneously. 98/70, 137/70. I suppose its fish in a barrel for them, as that road begs for speed.

Comment (10/2008): Mile maker 50 is correct on I-75,( Alligator Ally). There is an officer now from the Miccosukee Police Department. The offecer drives in the west direction of traffic. When he spots a group of cars driving east, he shoots the radar while driving. He quickly cuts across the median and stops the last car of the group and gives that driver the speeding ticket. When you explain, you had the cruise control on and theres no way you were speeding and cars were passing you up. His response is, \"Oh.well! your the one who got stopped.

Comment (09/2009): If you get a speeding ticket on Alligator Alley, pay close attention to the details of the ticket -- especially how the form is filled out. In my case (Sept. 2009), my ticket was dismissed because the Miccosukee Police wrote \"Exceeding max\" instead of completing the ticket portion that shows how much my speed was and what the limit was on that road. (Hope the cops don\'t read this to correct their mistake.) My research said that 50% of tickets are dismissed, IF you choose to fight them. Proved correct in my case.
