As you come into Bal Harbour, there is a high bridge which crosses an ocean inlet. not only does it cross the sea, but it crosses from the liberable 40 MPH Haulover Beach speed limit to the 30 MPH STRICTLY ENFORCED Bal Harbour speed limit. Bal Harbour police will sit in the condo parking lots on the right of the South-bound lanes pinging every car that generates a whole lot of speed coming down the bridge. They are there at any time and most people in Bal Harbour know that 30 MPH is the only acceptable speed.

Collins Avenue (State Road A1A)runs through Bal Harbour from 95 Street to the bridge over Baker's Haulover. As you go down the bridge into Bal Harbour, the speed limit changes to 30 mph, despite SR A1A being a wide highway with a divider. Police write numerous tickets to north and southbound traffic.
