Comment (7/2004): Yeah, but this isn't a speed trap. I spent five years in the Jax. Beaches and never once saw this spot speed-trapped. If you're speeding by and a police officer sees you, they'll stop you, but they don't trap. Mayport, on the other hand...those MPs have no problem writing tickets all day. | |
Comment (8/2004): Agreed. This is not a speed trap. Atlantic Beach police don't have enough officers to set up speed traps, let alone care enough to enforce them. They get enough money from alcohol, drug, and fireworks violations on the beaches. If you blow by an officer on Mayport Road doing 50, yeah, you're gonna get a ticket, but I spent three years living in that part of town and never once saw a speed trap in Atlantic Beach. | |
