Coming off of I-65, as you approach the "city" limits, the speed limit drops from 55 to 35 in a REDICULOUSLY small amount of time. Out of towners BEWARE!! The officer was kind enough to understand that we didn't realize the speed limit dropped so suddenly, and politely told us to "watch the signs."

Comment (5/2004): this is how ardmore makes it's money....simple as that......over 95% of the tickets they give in ardmore, TN are in this small stretch, but ironically, they will nearly always drop the charges in favor of a $35 court fee.......to avoid paperwork i assume.......the day i went to court for speeding (yes, just as you go under the bridge) there were 27 people there, 25 for speeding, 1 for driving w/o license, 1 for using someone else's ID.....all charges were dropped and court costs were the only thing paid......money maker

5 miles south of Ardmore on 53, state trooper parks in a old gas station facing northbound, you wont see him until its too late if you dont have a detector.
